Saturday: Both qualis ended up with a red flag so I never really got a clean lap in but still managed to put myself high on the grid which I was pleased with. Then race 1 was all about seeing how I’d do wheel to wheel and I drove a good race and didn’t lose or gain a position and kept consistent throughout the 15 minutes. Race 2 was very challenging as it was torrential conditions and after a bad start I saw myself in P16 but then after fighting back and picking them up 1 by 1 I brought it home in P8 and had pace for the top 3 which gave me loads of confidence.
Sunday: Had another good quali and just had to bring it home in the endurance race to top off this excellent weekend. After 8 laps I saw myself up into P5 of pure pace with the fastest lap hoping I could reach the podium but after lapped traffic got in the way during the pit window I just lost so much time and came home in P10 after an eventful 90 minutes 😁
I would like to say a massive thank you again to Matty for the coaching and constant reassurance as I’m hard on myself and for being on the radio the whole race keeping me going. I would also like to say a big thanks to my mechanic Dan for prepping the car and running me for the weekend.
I can’t wait for round 2 at Silverstone this year is going to be great 🤩
